J Lo on American Idol?

The new season of American Idol is starting up.

And the big news is: NO More Simon Cowell!

It's hard to imagine American Idol without Simon
telling all the contestants that they suck.

This season, it's all about the "support and coaching"
they'll get from new judges Jennifer Lopez and Steven
Tyler of Aerosmith.

J. Lo has said, "We're not here to break people down,
but to help them move through it."

And the executive producer has said that the changes
were made in order to help the contestants go into
the competition with "confidence and pride in themselves.

So is the new and improved "feel-good" American
Idol going to gain back the ratings lost in recent
years?

Only time will tell.

But one thing is for sure.

The warm and fuzzy version will have a lot less drama
and tears than before.
